The technical visits will happen in the morning period on August 27, 2018.

We will have 4 technical visits. The PES students will have to choose only one visit to attend because each visit will happen faraway of the congress venue. Also, each technical visit will take 3 hours. These are the 4 technical visits that we will hold as part of the 3rd PES student congress:

  • Henry Borden hydrometric plan
  • Carbocloro company
  • Toyota
  • Omnisys

 

1) Henry Borden hydrometric plan

Location: Cubatao city (Sao Paulo state).

The Henry Borden complex, located on the foot of the Serra do Mar, in Cubatão, encompasses two high (720 m) fall power plants, called External and Underground, with 14 groups of generators, powered by Pelton turbines, totaling an installed capacity of 889 MW, for a flow rate of 157 cubic meters/s.

 

2) Carbocloro company

Location: Cubatao city (Sao Paulo state).

The Unipar Carbocloro is a Brazilian chemical company. This company was founded originally in 1969 under the name “União Participações Industriais Ltda.”. The company was born as an industrial complex for the production of chemical products, polyolefins and other petroleum products. This company was one of the pioneers in the installation of the São Paulo petrochemical complex.

3) Toyota

Location: Sao Bernardo do Campo city (Sao Paulo state).

Toyota operates in four states and the Federal District. This company has a workforce of about 5,600 people. Toyota do Brasil Ltda. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) and was the first unit of the group to have a plant outside Japan at the time of its foundation 59 years ago. The unit of ABC Paulista (Sao Bernardo do Campo city), the company’s first factory built outside Japan, with operations started in 1962.

 

4) Omnisys

Location: Sao Bernardo do Campo city (Sao Paulo state

The OMNISYS company was founded in 1997. This is the first Brazilian electronics engineering company to provide high-tech solutions for civil, military and space applications not only to Brazil but also to other Latin American, European and Asian countries. The Brazilian company operates in the key segments of air traffic management radars, meteorological radars, trajectory radars, electronic warfare and missiles for the naval domain, among others, and progressively new areas have been added to its scope.
