Sayonsom Chanda is an Engineer-in-Training and Research Engineer at Idaho National Laboratory. He received his Masters in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University. He is into complex network analysis, resilient system design, machine learning, smart home, artificial intelligence, and iOS app development. He is also the co-founder of a not-for-profit platform for encouraging AI-driven innovations called Ailien Space.
Hussain Mahdi is from Malaysia Section, a Ph.D. in electrical engineering at the Electronic Department, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He joined IEEE almost 6 years ago and since then. He was the social activity Chair 2012, vice chair 2013 and the chair of IEEE UKM Student Branch 2014. He was IEEE Malaysia Section Student Representative 2015, IEEE Region 10 Asia Pacific Students Activities Committee 2015, IEEEXtreme 9.0 Ambassador 2015, IEEE Day Ambassador 2015, IEEE madC ambassador coordinator of Region 10 2016, IEEEXtreme PA Lead, Region 10 and ambassador coordinator 2016 , IEEE Region 10 Student activity committee South-East Asia coordinator 2016, IEEE Malaysia Section Young Professional Humanitarian activities Chair 2016,2017, IEEE Region 10 Young Professional Committee South-East Asia coordinator 2017 and IEEE Region 10 Humanitarian activities committee 2017. During the course of serving under IEEE UKM Student Branch, he led a team who achieved IEEE Malaysia Outstanding Student Branch Award for 2013 & 2014, and he won the Student Leadership Award 2014 & 2015 from UKM, IEEE Malaysia student leadership award 2015, Best Social Activity Award 2015, IEEE Malaysia Section Outstanding Student Volunteer Award 2015, 2016 DARREL CHONG AWARD winner Silver category for project entitled Asian School on Renewable Energy , 2016 DARREL CHONG AWARD winner Bronze category for project entitled Flood Relief Missions and IEEE MGA Young Professional Achievement Award 2016.
Sımay Akar is an active IEEE volunteer since 2007 and has been serving several volunteer membership and leadership positions. She is graduated from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey
Simay is currently working in the solar industry in Suzhou, China- as Overseas Marketing Manager of Suzhou Talesun Solar Technologies Co., Ltd. is a photovoltaic manufacturer with an annual capacity of 3 GW cells and 5 GW modules in China and Thailand. She is responsible for Americas, MEA, Australia and Japan regional marketing activities. She was in charge of business development, strategic marketing and sales activities of CSUN Eurasia’s- a Chinese PV modules and solar cells manufacturer- solar cells which made in its factory in Istanbul, Turkey between 2013-2015 and covering international sales activities among many countries as Business Development and Sales Manager. She has been honored with CSUN Outstanding Staff Award in December 2014.
She has served several volunteer activities in different organizational units including Student Branch (METU), Sections (Turkey and Nanjing-China), Regions (8 and 10), Societies (PES, SSIT) IEEE Day, IEEE SIGHT and Humanitarian Activities, IEEE TAB (WUG), IEEE MGA (WIE and Young Professionals) and many others.
Gold medalist, for serving humanity(awarded by the University of Lahore) Gold medalist, for serving humanity(awarded by COMSATS University for Science and Technology). Usman has been serving IEEE Young Professionals for last 5 years at the local and international levels.
Erick G. Chinchilla Vargas
Erick Chinchilla Vargas (M, 2007) was born in San José, Costa Rica on November 3, 1980. He is a graduate of Autotrónica at the National Institute of Learning (INA), an Electrical Engineer with an emphasis on automatic control, University of Costa Rica and Master in Project Management at UCI. He currently works as a professor and coordinator of Electrical Engineering at the University of Costa Rica, Guanacaste He has held various positions within the IEEE as student branch president, S-SAC, YP chair and student branch counselor.
