About IEEE

IEEE is the world’s largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and its members inspire a global community through IEEE’s highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities.

IEEE, pronounced “Eye-triple-E,” stands for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. The association is chartered under this name and it is the full legal name. To learn more about the association’s name, for more information please read the History of IEEE.

About IEEE DEIS Chapter in Polish Section

Polish Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society Chapter was set up by Marek Florkowski initiative, as local platform for integration of scientific community which field of interest are dielectrics materials, high voltage techniques. Motivation factor for forming of DEIS Chapter in Polish Section was intention of gathering of local DEIS members in one formation due to closer cooperation and better flow of information and experience between members. Local society shows high interest in field of High Voltage and Engineering with special focus on dielectrics and electrical insulation, this fact implies foundation of group of professionals under the patronage of IEEE.

Chapter petition signed by 12 DEIS members was send to IEEE in May 2015. Now days we gather 16 members (from industry, academia and also students) form 4 cities in Poland (see map below). Our aim is to promote IEEE and DEIS in local communities, organize events topic related to insulation materials and high voltage. Our goals are not only focused on Polish collaboration but also on international.
