THE IEEE CANADA HUMANITARIAN INITIATIVES COMMITTEE supports IEEE members in Canada that are participating in Humanitarian activities, or that are building relationships that will enable us fulfill IEEE’s strategic vision.

1. Driving Need: systematic approach to solve world problems.
2. Desired Outcome: demonstrate expertise and relevance of IEEE to positively impact humanity.
3. Enabling Framework: Collecting, classifying, and distributing information or assistance to support humanitarian initiatives, new ventures and collaboration.

THE HIC WILL HELP:

1. Respond to the growing need, voiced by members, to address world problems in a tangible manner.
2. Enhance sense of belonging and pride in being members; benefiting membership development and member retention.
3. Provide members opportunity to use professional skills outside current job, as a career development path.
4. Provide opportunity for members to participate in Humanitarian/Social entrepreneur industry: “to do well while doing good.
5. Provide the continuity needed by sections to improve proficiency in humanitarian work.
