New Business:

Update to IITSEC-IEEE Track Proposal: Bob Sottilare is set to brief an IEEE Learning Technology Track to the IITSEC committee next week in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  The proposed track is composed of three AIS-associated special events on Conceptual Modeling, Interoperability Standards, and Recommended Evaluation Practices for AISs.  The fourth special event in this proposed track is on learning engineering.

Two PARs have been submitted to the 20 March NesCom meeting: AIS interoperability standards (P2247.2) and recommended practices for AIS evaluation (P2247.3).  The work will be done within the AIS working group:

  • Subgroup for Best Practices for the Evaluation of AISs – PAR in and awaiting feedback and approval from LTSC
    • PAR 2247.3 Draft is up on the IEEE WG collaboration site at: http://sites.ieee.org/sagroups-2247-1/?p=522
    • We are looking for candidates for subgroup chair – if interested, please contact Bob Sottilare at bob.sottilare@soartech.com
    • We are looking for candidates for regional leaders (Asia-Pacific, Europe-Africa, and the Americas) for Project 2247.3 – if interested, please contact Bob Sottilare at bob.sottilare@soartech.com
  • Subgroup on Interoperability Standards for AISs – PAR in and awaiting feedback and approval from LTSC

  • Subgroup on Conceptual Modeling of AISs – PAR approved in June 2018
    • Approved PAR 2247.1 is up on the IEEE WG collaboration site
    • Subgroup chair is Anne Knowles, L3 Technologies
    • The AIS Conceptual Modeling subgroup met March 13th
    • The AIS Conceptual Modeling subgroup met Mar 13th and held a lively discussion with 5 attendees on topics such as:  who the customer is for this standard, setting up a survey for inputs on tutoring models known to the community (look for this coming soon!), and transitioning to IEEE Collabratec and IEEE-based GoogleDrive for our growing subgroup. For all AIS members, there are just a couple days left to provide ontology feedback during this round. The GoogleDoc is in a “Ready for Feedback” folder to collect edits and comments. Instructions are provided within the document. Visit https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1JJS9A0Q180fPCnS7RZ83D_HMW1Tc0rWF?usp=sharing  until Monday, March 18th.
    • We are looking for candidates for regional leaders (Asia-Pacific (Xiangen Hu), Europe-Africa, and the Americas) for Project 2247.1 – if interested, please contact Bob Sottilare at bob.sottilare@soartech.com or Anne Knowles at knowledge.ak@gmail.com
