    • HCII Adaptive Instructional System (AIS) Conference (26–31 July, Orlando, Florida)
      • The Adaptive Instructional Systems (AIS) conference under the auspices of Human-Computer Interaction International (HCII) was approved and will serve as a venue for one of the two annual face-to-face meetings for the AIS working group and provide broader international exposure for IEEE standards.
      •  The HCII AIS conference will be held in Orlando, Florida at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort
      • For more information on the First International Conference on Adaptive Instructional Systems: http://2019.hci.international/ais; 52 papers (10 sessions) were approved for presentation at the HCII AIS conference.  Thank you to all the the LTSC and AIS WG members who contributed to this conference.

      • Update to our IITSEC-IEEE Track Proposal: our proposal for four special events was approved in March 2019

          • Goal: Expose the I/ITSEC community to IEEE learning technology activities related to modeling a representative AIS and standardization terms, functions, and relationships

      • AIS Conceptual Modeling Subgroup Chair—Anne Knowles, L3 Technologies
        • Held two subgroup meetings with discussion and edits to text and images in the standard on Collabratec — edits for refining AIS levels of adaptivity, developing a section to address “What is adaptive?”, approach and structure of the concept model, and other issues in other sections.
        • Continued communications and edits within Collabratec in between meetings to evolve topics raised during meetings.
        • Increased global membership (one new member from Uganda, and one re-confirmed from India).
