The IEEE Student Branch has four soldering stations available for all students to use, as long as, all rules and safety requirements are met.
Students wishing to construct circuits by soldering must follow this procedure (please note that soldering is only permitted in the IEEE Student Branch room ITB-141).

- Note: Quiz must be completed on the McMaster network
- Complete practical soldering test in the IEEE Student Branch in ITB-141
- Obtain an ECE Soldering Certification card (to be renewed annually)
All students that wish to use the soldering stations in the IEEE Student Branch must have a valid soldering certification card and their student card. The soldering card must be given to a student branch member before soldering and will be returned once the station has been cleaned after use. During the times of soldering, there must be an IEEE Student Branch member present in the office.

You must complete the online quiz, and practical safety quiz before coming for your first soldering booking. On the calendar below there are designated hours where a station will be reserved for the practical training.
Training is drop in! You do not need to create a booking unless you intend on soldering at that time.
Side note: You might be able to complete your training outside of these hours, but there may not be a member able to train or the stations may be full, so COMPLETE THE CERTIFICATION EARLY. You will not be able to solder without the certification.
