The IEEE EMBS MSRIT chapter, IEEE EMBS Bangalore chapter in association with M.S. Ramaiah Institute Of Technology (MSRIT), Bangalore, organized the orientation program for the 2015 batch, medical electronics, which was held on the 6th of August, 2015 at the LHC Seminar Hall I, MSRIT campus.

In his welcome speech, Dr. Sriraam, extended a word of gratitude to all the parents, staff and the students present and ensured that the upcoming talks would drill in us the importance of IEEE and the benefits attained in being associated with it.

The orientation was enlightened by a talk by Mr.Jagadeesh Attiganand,director at the Primary and Secondary Care Solutions, Philips Innovation Campus.

 Jagadeesh Attiganand has over 18 years of experience and has been working at Philips Innovation Campus for the last 12 years. He has worked on various healthcare products like Radiation Oncology, Nuclear Medicine, small animal imaging, etc. In his present role, he is focused on developing end to end solutions for Primary and Secondary care setting in growth geographies. He has also been driving key organizational initiatives around Quality, Program Management and HR practices. Prior to Philips, he has product development experience in telecom domain.

A platform to know IEEE

Jagadeesh gave a brief insight about IEEE and spoke about IEEE societies. IEEE EMBS (Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society) was the highlight. He also detailed the various aspects of technology being implemented in the field of healthcare.

A stall was setup which had the IEEE modules for display, which attracted the students and the membership forms were issued.

The orientation was successful in highlighting the importance of IEEE and in providing a platform for the students and the parents to discuss and share their opinions incoherent with the IEEE goals.
