INFUSE FYP-PEDIA FROM A TO Z

In the dawn of third year the most un-anticipated course rears its head to snarl at the intimidated students, Final Year Projects are known to induce dread and panic of the highest order in a student’s mind which go uncontested for the rest of their lives. Keeping true to their reputation, IEEE NEDUET organized the handiest event of this year to help student overcome the creeps of this phobia by boosting them up to the level where they can start understanding this holy grail of projects.

The event was named INFUSE FYP-PEDIA from A to Z and it took place in the Civil AV Hall on the 5th of August with students clamoring to get their registrations done before the seats ran out. The event started with a soulful recitation of an excerpt from Holy Quran after which the host, Saniya Ambreen, invited our first guest speaker, Dr. Sadia Muniza Faraz, who is an assistant professor in the electronic engineering department, and also an integral member of the FYP committee for many years and has had numerous publications which have made her the most highly sought-out mentor in terms of FYP.

The second speaker was Khawaja Muhammad Salman, Associate Manager at Ufone and a graduate from Sir Syed University. He took a very tongue in cheek approach and soon the whole hall was literally ringing with the laughter of the audience on his witty remarks and clever jibes. His presentation was based on his expertise of Project Management and was primarily targeted to the future group leaders to teach them how to tackle the inevitable bumps during the course of the project.

The third speaker was a recent graduate of NED University from the Telecommunication Department, who works as an iOS developer at Folio3 Private Ltd; Mr. Hamza Azad enjoyed a unique position having been through this phase recently and having analyzed the market as a fresh graduate. He explained the whole process of developing an application from scratch and how to submit periodic reports to your internals and externals. He also introduced us to the new developments in the software field to give the students an idea for the potential subjects of their projects.

In the end, Sir Usman and Muhammad Hassan, Chairperson of IEEE NEDUET SB, took the time to appreciate the speakers and the efforts of IEEE NEDUET and also asserted the importance of FYP in an engineer’s life.
Altogether, this event was a huge success and the students left with a marginally, but nevertheless, depleted reservoir of queries and confusions.
