Expert talks under Skill and Knowledge Enhancement Programme (SKEP)

Expert talks under Skill and Knowledge Enhancement Programme (SKEP) of IEEE Bombay section With an objective to provide a platform to learn the wonderful features of various technologies this program was organized by IEEE-RCOEM student branch. This is the era of multidisciplinary work; this initiative may give a chance to contribute as an Engineer in various fields of science. Under this programme four talks by eminent speakers are organized.

TALK 1 – High Speed Signal Processing Techniques

Speaker: Dr. B. Satyanarayan, from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research,Mumbai

Date: 10th March 2018

TALK 2 – NMR Spectroscopy: Introduction & Perspective

Speaker: Dr. Vipin Agarwal, from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Hyderabad

Date: 17 th March 2018

NMR is now the most versatile spectroscopic technique that is used in regular analysis of biomacromolecules. This technology is useful in various fields like agriculture, soil sciences, at airport for detection of explosives, test food quality, food color analysis, material science, human disease diagnosis and many others. This talk provided a platform to learn the wonderful features of NMR technology.

Dr. Vipin Agarwal , TIFR Hyderabad

TALK 3 – Materials, Methods and Manufacturing

Speaker: Dr. Prabhat Dwivedi, IIT Kanpur

Date: 26 th March 2018

It is known that application of nanotechnology is very diverse, ranging from electronics, optics, photonics, communication, medicine, sensing, biotechnology and biomaterials, and to clean energy production. This emerging technology is capable of creating many new materials and devices in micro/nano scale with a vast range of applications. One of the challenges in nanotechnology research is cost effective fabrication strategies. This talk furnished the recent developments in micro/nano fabrication techniques.
