Student Transition and Elevation Programme

Students attended the Student Transition and Elevation Programme (STEP) which is organized by Young Professional group of IEEE Bombay section on 7th and 8th July at S. B. Jain Institute of Technology, Management, and Research, Nagpur. The event mainly concentrated upon the orientation of the career opportunities available and link up in IEEE and entrepreneurship.

1st Annual General Meeting of IEEE Nagpur Subsection

1st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of newly formed IEEE Nagpur, Subsection on 2nd September 2017 was attended by the branch counselor and the 3 IEEE student members.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

IGNITE – a flagship event

IGNITE: It was a flagship event held as a part of the formation of IEEE Nagpur SUBSECTION organized at TCS Nagpur and various engineering institutions of Nagpur region. It was held from 29th August to 1st September 2017. This included various workshops and seminar which were WIE seminar, start-up conclave.

– Startup conclave was held on 30th August and our students took active participation in the startup conclave and the boot camp wherein they got an exposure to entrepreneurship techniques. There were various budding entrepreneurs who were present to guide the students.

-IOT and Data Science workshop was held at TCS MIHAN on 31st August and 1st September. These workshops were worth attending and students participated enthusiastically. IOT workshop was also open for faculties and 10 of our faculties attended the same. 50 of our students attended this 2-day workshop at the TCS campus. They were explained from, the basics about IOT by scientists working at TCS, faculties from IIT and VNIT. Students were taught big data management, Cloud handling, industrial application of IOT etc.

Labview and NI DAQ 6003

A two days workshop on Labview and NI DAQ 6003 was conducted on 7th and 8th September 2017. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Lakhan Bajaj of National Instruments (NI). The students were given knowledge on LABVIEW Software for various analyses and it simplifies hardware integration so that one can rapidly acquire and visualize data sets from virtually any I/O device.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

IEEE Promotion visit SBJITMR, Nagpur

On 7th January 2017, Pratik Baheti, Surabhi Sukla, Simran  Chodhary and Geetika Mohabe students of IEEE RCOEM-SB Volunteered for a seminar at S. B. Jain Institute of Technology, Management, and Research along with the IEEE RCOEM-SB Counselor Dr. R. R. Khandelwal. The session began with an introductory speech by Dr. Bawane of SBJITMR followed by an informative speech by Dr. R. R. Khandelwal on Enhance your spectrum through IEEE Membership. This was followed by the motivational speech of Mr. Pratik on technological development and advancement in science. Other members interacted on the role of IEEE and their experiences as an active volunteer of IEEE.

Participation at IEEE Bombay Section Congress

A student member of IEEE-RCOEM student branch was selected as a volunteer at IBSC organized on 27th January to 29th 2017 at SSGMCE, Shegaon. He is the winner of the Selfieholic event at the Congress.

Interaction with Section Student Representative IEEE Bombay Section

On 16th February 2017, Mr. Bhavesh Chordia, Section Student representative and Ex-Chair of IEEE RCOEM-SB visited the college and a meeting-cum-informative session on was conducted by him. The session began at 2 pm by welcoming Mr. Bhavesh at the hands of Branch Counselor Dr. (Mrs.) R. R. Khandelwal. many pieces of advice regarding the student’s branch were given by him and benefits and importance of IEEE was discussed. A brief presentation on IEEE was presented by him on this eve. The session concluded with lots of enthusiasm at 5 pm with the promise of Advancing Technology for Humanity.

Second Foundation day of Nagpur metro

On 18th February 2017 students of IEEE RCOEM-SB along with Prof-B.M. Hardas and some final year students of Electronics Department attended the second foundation day of Nagpur Metro at Hotel Center Point at 190.30 am. 20 students took parts in this event and the output came in the form of their introduction with one of the key engineers and GC Mechanical Engineering of Nagpur Metro, Mr. S. K. Roy, with whom the students had good one-to-one interaction on the Mechanical Aspects and 5Dim Technology used in Nagpur Metro. Also, the students interacted with Mr.Ayush Gandhi, Media Coordinator of Nagpur Metro and Mr. Swagatam, GC Civil Engineering, Nagpur Metro. Also, many pieces of advice regarding women safety and cleanliness of Nagpur metro were put forth by the students. The session concluded at 4 pm with a promise to help Majhi Metro(Nagpur Metro) in every aspect possible.

CONSPIRACY THEORY 1.0

On 28th February 2017, an innovative event was conducted by IEEE RCOEM-SB initiative taken by Mr. Pratik Baheti to spread the awareness about the unsolved and conspiracy theories in the world. The participants were asked to submit an abstract on such theories between 21st February 2017 to 26th February 2017. The results were declared on the eve of 28th February 2017 which happened to be Science Day. Mr. Kaiwalya Joshi, a student of the first year was declared as a winner and Ms. Nishi Mandhana, a student of the second year CSE, was declared as the runner-up of the event.

MODEL UNITED NATIONS (MUN)

Model UN is a simulation of the United Nations(and various other governmental bodies) where participants play the part of representatives meeting in structured committees. While it is an academic activity that requires research and knowledge in world history, economic theory, and political theory, skills like public speaking and negotiation are the ones that play a vital role. 14 students were registered from RCOEM for this event at GHRCE on 2nd and 3rd March 2017 on the basis of their responses to the questionnaire for the phase-I.

Pratik Baheti volunteered as the Organizing Committee Member of the MUN along with two IEEE members Geetika Mohabe and Gaurav Giroti who took active participation for making this event a huge success by organizing the event and communicating with the participants from RCOEM. Ms. Aarti Gubrele of the second year B.E. Civil Engineering represented as the delegate of Israel to the UNGC DISEC committee and bagged a High Commendations certificate for her performance. Mr. Aditya Sinha of the second year B.E. Electrical Engineering represented as the delegate of Vietnam in UNGC DISEC committee and bagged a High Commendations Certificate for his performance.
