On October 16, 2009 a Joint Technical Meeting of IEEE IM/CI Joint Societies Chapter and IEEE Student Branch of TNEU with a Lithuanian researcher Gintautas Narvydas, a lecturer of Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania, that was visiting the Research Institute of Intelligent Computer Systems, Ternopil National Economic University (TNEU) within a joint Ukrainian – Lithuanian research project “Development of 3D Localization Methods for the Autonomous Robot Navigation” was held. Gintautas Narvydas presented the report entitled “Design and Implementation of Intelligent Systems for Local Control of Autonomous Mobile Robots” . On September 21, 2009 a Joint Technical Meeting of IEEE IM/CI Joint Societies Chapter and IEEE Student Branch of TNEU was held as a separate section of the 5th International IEEE Workshop on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems: Technology and Applications (IDAACS), Rende (Cosenza), Italy. The following reports were presented: “Combined Approach to Face Detection for Biometric Identification Systems” by Ihor Paliy and “Adaptive Clustering in Hyperbolic Wavelet Domain” by Prof. Viktor Krylov. On June 29, 2009 a Joint Technical Meeting of IEEE IM/CI Joint Societies Chapter and IEEE Student Branch of TNEU with Bulgarian researchers Prof. Ognian Boumbarov and Strahil Sokolov that were visiting the Research Institute of Intelligent Computer Systems, Ternopil National Economic University (TNEU) was held within the joint research project “Human Biometric Identification in Video Surveillance Systems” , supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine under the M/205-2009 agreement to present the main scientific directions, project results and developed products. The following reports were presented: “Combined Face Recognition Using Wavelet Packets and Radial Basis Function Neural Network“ by Prof. Ognian Boumbarov and “Motion Segmentation Algorithms for Video Surveillance Systems” by Yuriy Kurylyak.
