The IEEE, in partnership with the University of Manchester, is hosting workshop day running two sessions on Friday, May 12th, 2017: Publishing with IEEE and Best Practices in Patent Searching within IEEE Xplore.
The first session from 11:30 to 13:00 hrs is aimed at new and early career researchers and postgrads in engineering, computing, medical and technology related areas, where attendees will be provided with an overview of the way towards publishing with the IEEE.
The second session from 13:30 to 14:30 hrs will review how to effectively use IEEE Xplore for patent research. Topics include an overview of prior art searching and what makes an innovation patentable. Plus, how to find the correct keywords and construct complex search strategies on IEEE Xplore to begin your patent investigation.
