Our Mission is to provide undergraduate and graduate students who have an interest in the Electrical and Electronics or related engineering professions with opportunities for educational, technical and professional development in preparation for entry into the profession.

Our Team


IEEE is the world’s largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and its members inspire a global community through IEEE’s highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. IEEE, pronounced “Eye-triple-E,” stands for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. The association is chartered under this name and it is the full legal name. The IEEE was formed from the merging of two smaller engineering institutions. These were the American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE) and the Institute of Radio Engineers (IRE). This merger was agreed upon in 1963 by the boards of both institutions as a solution that would benefit all of their members, and so the IEEE was born. The expertise of the two groups gave the IEEE a large field to recruit from, and resulted in the organization being important for the technological innovations of the coming years, and the group currently has over 400,000 members.
