As part of the overall Wearables market portfolio, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) glasses and Head Mounted Displays (HMD) have emerged as the advanced products in the category. These are two rapidly growing areas of innovation with immense potential. We have already seen a few very good products in the market; undoubtedly there are more to come – with more innovation and more promise.  As entrepreneurs think about designing their new devices, I would like to share our experience with this emerging application segment, and help them make critical hardware design decisions (esp. around memory).

Harsha Nagaraju is Segment Marketing Manager for Embedded Business Unit in Micron Technologies (www.micron.com). Mr. Nagaraju has over 10 years of experience in Engineering and Marketing in the embedded market. He currently specializes in understanding the evolution of the consumer electronics market with specific focus on the burgeoning wearable market and influences the memory product decisions inside of Micron. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from RV College of Engineering, Bangalore, INDIA and a Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering from Drexel University, Philadelphia and an MBA from the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley.
