PRESENTATION TITLE
Bluetooth 5 and Beyond: How the World’s Most Successful Communication Technology is Getting Even Better
PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Bluetooth 5 and emerging Bluetooth mesh features extend the capabilities and benefits of Bluetooth Low Energy, enabling greater range, reliability, performance, and feature richness to the world’s most ubiquitous, simple, and successful wireless communication standard. This talk explores some of the technical strengths that have made Bluetooth Low Energy so successful, what is new with Bluetooth 5, and what we should expect to see with the emerging Bluetooth mesh. In addition, security and privacy features will be discussed, and how they are protecting users and networks with the rapid proliferation of Bluetooth Low Energy devices. With all the new capabilities and backwards compatibility to existing Bluetooth Low Energy, we will finish by exploring how Bluetooth Low Energy is enabling new capabilities for retail, industrial, automotive, and consumer markets.
