How trustworthy is your common sense? Try this multiple-choice common sense test (4 min): http:xpertus.com/dq/index and see if you can score over 60%.

This talk will highlight perils and pitfalls that surround us, as we make decisions, and present techniques for minimizing the impact of inherent sources of errors. We cannot get away from the fact that the decision we make impact our personal and professional lives. Recent advances in the area of decision-making have demonstrated that – in the age of bid data, we cannot rely on commonsense alone, for reaching optimum decisions. This is a unique opportunity for you to:

  1. Understand the perils & pitfalls of decision-making, and,
  2. See how we can reinforce our commonsense with analytical techniques.

Once you gain a thorough understanding of the factors that impact the decisions you make, you will know how to compensate for biases, both internal, and environmental, and use techniques that ensure you arrive at optimal decisions.
