IEEE Seattle YP May Event: Startup Grind in Seattle

The IEEE Seattle YP has formed a local partnership with StartupGrind; a global startup community designed to educate, inspire, and connect entrepreneurs. Under this partnership, IEEE members pay a reduced fee for local Startup Grind events. The event takes place on Tuesday May 30th at 6pm with networking, drinks, and food among entrepreneurs in Seattle. At 6:45pm, an insightful business driven Q/A session with the speaker will take place. The discussion will be focused on how the speaker got started in their respective business space with guidance and recommendations for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Michel is the co-founder and CEO of Usermind, responsible for company vision, strategic direction, planning and execution. Michel has raised more than $22 million from leading VCs including Andreessen Horowitz, Menlo Ventures and CRV. Her enterprise software career spans almost 20 years with roles in sales, product, strategic marketing and general management.
Before founding Usermind, Michel was VP of Products at Apptio, where she drove product strategy, defined the category and discipline of Technology Business Management, and helped grow the company from 30 to almost 400 employees. Michel led the acquisition of Opsware by HP Software for $1.6B, managed the combined Opsware, Radia and AppIq product teams, and defined the Service Automation category. She also spent nearly eight years at Mercury Interactive building world class products like LoadRunner and QualityCenter, which made customer’s lives better.
