Panel Discussion: MeerKAT

Panel Discussion: Tuesday afternoon, 23 October: “MeerKAT”

MeerKAT is South Africa’s brand new radio telescope. The instrument consists of 64 Offset Gregorian dishes, currently observing the skies at L-band. It recently generated the clearest image of the Milky Way’s galactic center.

On Wednesday 24 October, starting at 15:30 (3:30 PM), we are offering tours of the Cape Town facilities, for conference attendees. Sign up during the conference. On the tour we’ll be visiting the MeerKAT mission control room and electronics laboratories to see digitiser units and custom build SKARAB signal processing boards. Please see the MeerKAT website for further information: www.ska.ac.za
