Call for Award Nominations – 2018 Annual Outstanding Awards

The Saint Louis Section is proud to announce its Call for Annual Outstanding Awards. This is a tradition where the best of the best are recognized for outstanding talent in their profession. Please consider this opportunity to appoint a fellow member of IEEE that is your colleague, friend, employer, customer or mentor that you feel is deserving of one of the following awards. 2018 IEEE Saint Louis Section Black Box Competitions

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is proud to host the 2018 IEEE St. Louis Section Black Box Competitions.  This year the annual event will be held at the SIUE School of Engineering on Saturday November 3, 2018.  Check-in for the event will start at 12:30 pm and the contest will run from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm.  There will be both an “analog” and a “digital” contest!  Each school is invited to send up to two teams to the analog contest and one team to the digital contest.  All teams must be registered for the event by Friday October 19, 2018 (5:00 pm). If you are a student team wishing to compete or a member who would like to serve as a judge for either contest, please send email (with subject heading BLACKBOX) to George Engel (gengel@siue.edu) by Friday Oct. 19, 2018.

IEEE Saint Louis Section Meeting (April 25th 2018) in Rolla

Good evening everyone,

I hope that you are all well. For those who attended the 2018 IEEE PES T&D Conference in Denver, CO, welcome back.

Our April meeting is scheduled for April 25th at 6pm in the Silver & Gold Conference room in Havener Center. Additionally, the IEEE student branch will be presenting on Region 5 activities. Take care and we hope to see you on the 25th in Rolla.

Hope you had a wonderful holiday time and ready for an exciting 2018. We started the RobotSumo workshops on Nov 4 and we are almost there for the final competition!!

The RobotSumo competition will be held on Saturday, Jan 6, 2018 at the Science Center. The competition will start between 3 PM and 3:30PM and is expected to be over by 5PM.
