Nobel Lectures in Sweden

Dear VT/COM/IT member!

Nobel Prize Laureate, Professor Michael Levitt is visiting Sweden in early June, on
a very tight and ambitious schedule. Members of IEEE are cordially invited to attend
M. Levitt’s seminars, either in Umeå, Stockholm, or in Göteborg.

Prof. Levitt, affiliated with Stanford University ‘s School of Medicine, USA, is a
former IEEE member. He shared the prize in Chemistry in 2013 with Martin Karplus and
Arieh Warshel. The prize motivation was for the development of multi-scale models
for complex chemical systems. Prof. Levitt is the architect of computer simulation
methods which in many cases replace test tubes and clinical trials for development
of pharmaceuticals. For more on his work, please click here:

There are now three alternative ways how to attend prof. Levitt ‘s seminars.

Alternative 1 – A small private seminar at KTH, Stockholm, on June 6 at 14.00

MULTI-SCALE MODELING OF MACROMOLECULES”. The venue is The Chemical Biological Centre
(KBC- Kemiskt Biologiskt Centrum), at the KBC large lecture hall KB3B1; Linnaeus väg
10, 901 87 Umeå.
The lecture is 10:00 to 10:50.
Umeå University has kindly invited IEEE Sweden members who are interested in
