ACM SIGBED (http://sigbed.blogspot.com) has established an Early Career Award that recognizes contributions by junior researchers in the area of embedded, real-time, and cyber-physical systems. We encourage SIGBED community members to nominate candidates for the 2019 award.
CALL FOR PAPERS
ISORC 2019: The 22nd IEEE International Symposium on Real-Time Distributed Computing
Valencia, Spain, May 7-9, 2019
January 15, 2019 extended to February 1, 2019
Dear RTSS Community:
RTSS 2018 will be held December 11-14 in Nashville, TN, USA. RTSS 2019 will be held in early December 2019 in Hong Kong. At RTSS 2018, we will choose the location of RTSS 2020 during a meeting of the IEEE Technical Committee on Real-Time Systems (TCRTS) that is open to all RTSS attendees.
We are soliciting proposals in advance for hosting the conference. The Executive Committee of the TCRTS will review all submitted proposals, and select a set of proposals to be considered and voted on during the TCRTS meeting held at RTSS 2018. Those submitting nominations will be expected to attend this meeting and make a short presentation concerning the location they are nominating.
In 2020, RTSS is slated to be held in the Americas, so preference will be given to locations in North America or South America. However, if we receive an insufficient number of nominations from the Americas, other regions will be considered as well.
Proposals for hosting do not require formal budgets, but providing some sense of potential costs is expected. Also, information concerning potential meeting spaces, hotels, travel connections, things to do of local interest, etc., would be useful.
Proposals should be submitted to email@example.com no later than November 1, 2018.
Please consider volunteering to host RTSS 2020!
Chair, IEEE Technical Committee on Real-Time Systems (TCRTS)

Dear Real-Time Systems Community,
On behalf of IEEE Technical Committee on Real-Time Systems (TCRTS), I am delighted to announce that Professor James Anderson (UNC) has been named the awardee for the IEEE TCRTS Outstanding Technical Achievement and Leadership Award.
IEEE TCRTS Outstanding Technical Achievement and Leadership Award is given to recognize individuals for their outstanding technical achievement and leadership. This is an annual award presented to the recipient at the IEEE Real-Time Systems Symposium. The first award was made in 1999. Past awardees can be found at http://sites.ieee.org/tcrts/awards/achievement-and-leadership-awards/. The selection was made by the committee composed of recent awardees (led by Professor Wei Zhao this year).
Congratulations to Jim on this well deserved recognition of his contributions to the real-time community!
