Working with Our Inner Critic

IEEE WIE Victorian Section provided a unique opportunity with Dr. Phoebe Lau, a Clinical Psychologist, to share tips and strategies to manage inner critic and work with it. It was held on 5th of June,  2019 from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm.

An Inner Critic is an internal voice of criticism and judgement about ourselves. Most of us have one, and many of us struggle with it. Left unchecked, the Inner Critic can be really mean, stopping us from doing the things we want and driving us to have unrelenting high standards of ourselves. When Inner Critics have free reign, we can end up burnt out, depressed, anxious, and feeling unfulfilled.

According to the participants, this introductory workshop was helpful to identify and work with your Inner Critic in a way that’s harmonious and beneficial to you. The goal is not to get rid of your Inner Critic, but to work with it.
