Abstract:

In June 2004, Smith Carter opened the doors to SC3, their innovative and environmentally advanced corporate headquarters. The building uses state-of-the-art control systems that monitor the operating conditions in order to maximize the employee’s productivity and the building’s efficiences. For its success, SC3 has received critical acclaim, winning a Governor General’s Medal for Architecture in 2006 and was the first to achieve LEED© Platinum Certification in Manitoba in May 2009.

In this unique presentation, Howard Procyshyn, and Sarah Chernis, will share insight about the planning, design, construction, and ongoing use of the building.
