Abstract:

Red River College offers two courses for beginners and advanced users interested in developing applications in the LabVIEW graphical programming environment. The workshop covers basic LabVIEW program concepts and applies them in hands-on exercises.

Basic LabVIEW Program (Aug 15-16, 2011):

  • Front panel, the user interface design
    • Apply controls, indicators, charts, arrays, clusters
  • Hardware configuration through Measurement and Automation (Max)
    • Configure virtual channels
    • Create tasks
  • Implementation of data collection in the block diagram
    • Manage the data flow by using loop, case and sequence structures
    • Learn to use local sequence, local variable and shift register
    • Control the sampling rate of the data collection
    • Display and archive data
    • Utilize the debug tools to monitor, troubleshoot and repair a Labview program
    • Create subVI to implement hierarchy design

 

Advanced LabVIEW Program (Aug 18-19, 2011):

  • Project Based Hierarchy Design
  • Automation and Calibration Implementation
  • Serial Communication Application Development
  • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Monitoring via NI OPC Server and DSC Module
  • FPGA Embedded compact RIO System Design and Implementation

Cost:

$750 per participant per course
$395 per students per course
10% discount for IEEE Members
