Abstract:

Various methods of machine analysis are presented with respect to real world generator failures and repairs. Topics of discussion include stator coil bypassing, stator/rotor physical rub, temperature monitoring analysis, manual air gap measurement, and practical considerations for control system tuning.

Speaker Bio:

Eric See-Toh is a Professional Engineer at Manitoba Hydro. He is currently the Generation Performance Engineer and Electrical Section Head for the Generation South hydro generator region.

Eric’s background entails generator and control system design, system commissioning, construction management and maintenance engineering.

Eric’s expertise is focused on machine repair, testing, and control systems.
