Title:

Stationary Energy Storage System using Repurposed Electric Vehicle Batteries

Date:

Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 12:00 noon.

Location:

Holiday Inn South, 1330 Pembina Highway, Winnipeg

Speaker:

Randy Wachal

Abstract:

Electric Vehicle (EV) battery systems that are no longer suitable for vehicle application have potential for utility applications.

A multi-partner project sponsored by the Clean Energy Fund of Canada (CEF) investigated methodology for extending the useful life and thereby repurposing of used electric vehicles battery systems into a utility grade stationary energy storage system. The MHRC/MH project team has developed a working system using 2nd life electric vehicle batteries.p>
