The Lakehead University student branch is hosting an event this Thursday (Nov. 9) in which Karen Bartleson, the president of IEEE, will be giving a presentation entitled “Advice I’d Give My Younger Self”. The talk will cover lessons she has learned throughout her career that she wish she knew at the beginning. The event details are below:
Title: “Advice I’d Give My Younger Self”
Speaker: Karen Bartleson, IEEE President and CEO
Location: Lakehead University Campus, Braun Building room 1021
Date and Time: Thursday November 9th, 10-11am EST (9-10am CST)
There will also be a coffee and light snack social mixer after the event for IEEE members, followed by a pizza lunch.
The presentation will also be live streamed for members who wish to watch remotely. Web access is available via the following link:
Users must allow all prompts and disable any popup blockers from their browsers or allow popups when setting up. Also, anyone using a Mac should use Safari as their browser since this has worked the best in the past. Users will also have to install a plugin and possibly enable it depending on their default settings. To enable, navigate the Safari>Preferences menu and then on the Websites Tab, in the left hand menu, the option to enable the RealPresence Web Suit plugin will be present.
On PC please use Internet Explorer or Chrome.
If you are setting up access prior to the meeting you can call Lakehead Technology Services at 1-866-652-8657 to set up a test after you have configured your computer.
There is also an available teleconference if the web access does not work or if you’d rather join this way.
