The Electrical Safety Committee has several awards processes to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing the mission of the Committee.

William C. Jordan Award

The William C. Jordan Award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated outstanding service and dedication to the mission and strategies of the Electrical Safety Workshop and Electrical Safety Committee.  The William C. Jordan Award is not considered an annual award and will be given only at times when it is determined that an individual clearly has met, or exceeded the award criteria.  The William C. Jordan Award is the highest level award presented by the Electrical Safety Committee.  This award was established in 2008 as the Electrical Safety Workshop Founders Award and renamed in 2015.

H. Landis Floyd Outstanding Service Award

The H. Landis Floyd Outstanding Service Award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated outstanding administrative leadership and contributions in support of the Electrical Safety Committee, including activities of any of its subcommittees.  This award was established in 2015 as the Outstanding Service Award and renamed in 2023.

Young Professional Achievement Award

The Young Professional Achievement Award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated outstanding service, dedication, implementation, or promotion of electrical safety in their organizations or through contributions to the objectives of the IEEE IAS Electrical Safety Committee.  This award was established in 2021.

Electrical Safety Workshop Prize Paper Awards

These awards recognize papers and presentations from the technical program at the annual IEEE IAS Electrical Safety Workshop. Recipient selection is the responsibility of the Technical Program Subcommittee.
